  • Voice Description

My voice has been called warm, friendly, authoritative, enthusiastic, and - most importantly - believable.

My natural delivery isn’t the Received Pronunciation or “RP” made famous by newsreel announcers, Shakespearian actors and public schoolboys of the past, but a more neutral, unaccented English. It’s a friendlier, more natural style of speaking which still carries authority, but which also has a knack of making even the most complex and technical script shine through with absolute clarity.

I can also revert to my Black Country and West Midlands roots if needed and, though I’m by no means an accent expert, I can do a very natural Australian accent, mostly as a result of living with one for the last five years and spending quite a lot of time there!

  • Experience

I've been voicing for twenty years, since I was just 17 and started working for my local BBC radio station. Since then I've had periods as a radio presenter, TV announcer and – in recent years – as a full time freelance voiceover artist.

Much of my work is in broadcast media. I can regularly be heard on the BBC World Service as a station announcer and newsreader, and years of "sight-reading" scripts in radio news means I "cold read" very well. I also regularly voice, or re-voice programmes for stations like History, National Geographic and Biography.

I'm used to getting the best out of difficult scripts, and adept at bringing dry, technical reads to life. This makes me an especially good choice for training, eLearning and corporate projects, though I'm also asked to voice everything from phone prompts to awards ceremonies, to announcements for theme parks.

  • Detailed Service Description

I work from my home studio in London. It's acoustically-treated and comprises professional kit, including Neumann microphone, a Focusrite Voicemaster Platinum Pro pre-amp with its own A-to-D converter (to keep things nice and clean), and computers running Pro Tools and other software.

ISDN lines mean I can connect in seconds to a studio of your choice, if required, and I'm also able to offer live hookups via VOIP, using either Source Connect Pro or AudioTX. Please ask if you'd like to know more.

Being in the middle of London means I can make myself available for bookings at a studio of your choice. I'm just twenty minutes from Soho and can easily travel throughout London and beyond.

  • Payment Terms
